Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the product?
Quality of image
In the thiller opening the camera quality is much better. We have use better lighting in our thriller opening to create an effect for the film and it looks better. Whilst in the preliminary task, we didn't take it into account and just ignored it. We also have the camera focused on the what we want the audience to look out rather than having everything we don't need in focus.
Quality Of Shot
In the preliminary task the video jumps straight in with the first shot of a high angle shot on a actors head. But in our opening of our thriller we start with out ident on screen. The second shot is a low angle of shot of someones legs. But the prelimnary task we use a eye line match. We have improved by positioning the camera in diffrent positions and using diffrent shots to keep the contunity of the film.
Quality of sound
n the preliminary task we had no music and had one Non-diegetic sound which was the a clock tic-toking and it wasn't in time and just looked and sounded horrible. But in the thriller opeing we used many diffrent diagetic sounds and we have choosen to play music throughout the opening.
Contiinuity editing
In the preliminary task we did not break the the 180 degree rule and we didn't do it in the thriller opening. In the preliminary task we used a eye line match but it doesn't look good. We used a bit of match on action but not as much as there wasn't many shots. Also the prelimiinary task didn't seem smooth and seemed like we didn't keep the continuity of the film. But in thriller we used Match-on-action and the film seemed smooth.
Continuity
We took more time and effort into diffrent costumes and props. Each character looks like they meet the role they are playing. For example our thugs support the steryotype. Whilst in the preliminary task we did not dress up and our main character did not look like a criminal. We also got to use diffrent props in the thriller opening that we didn't use in the preliminary task.
