Film analysis
The film "North By Northwest" is about a young women from New York is mistake for a government agent by a group of foreign spies. Then she is pursued across america to trying to escape.

Editing
The first shot is around 9 seconds long and is a slow pace. It starts slow for the viewers to get to grips of what is going on and to see the character and the plane. They then use a eye-line match when he looks towards the field, then the camera focuses on the field. The camera shows a low angle in the field, this is dramatic irony has occurred as the audience knows where he is the but the pilot doesn't.
Sound
The scene starts off using diegetic and non diegetic sound as the pace speed up and high pitched soundtrack sets the mood for the audience to give them a better understanding of what is about to happen. Non diegetic sounds gave a sense of reality. Using sound bridges helps to build the continuity throughout the scene and sets a the mood for the last shot is carried to the next. The sound effects put emphasise on the audience's perception of the shot and makes the scene more thrilling to watch.
Mise en Scene
You can see that the character is alone in a deserted area showing he is in the middle of no where. He is wearing a suit that shows that he is out of place and doesn't belong their. In the first 5 seconds his body language shows he is stiff and shows that he is nervous and scared. He starts running that shows the audience he is trying to escape or out run something.
Camera
The camera uses a medium shot of the character which allows the audience to focus on him and the area. They then use a wider shot of him and and shows the audience the landscape around him. The camera follows him at the same pace, this allows the audience to see his movement as he falls and the camera is positioned at a low angle. Where the audience see the state of his body and see if anything has happened to him.
